The Department of General Services (DGS)
The Department of General Services is the result of the consolidation of capital construction and real property management functions of the Office of Public Education Facilities Modernization (OPEFM), Department of Real Estate Services (DRES), Municipal Facilities: Non-Capital Agency (ZXO), Fire and Emergency Management Services (FEMS), Metropolitan Police Department (MPD) and the facilities management responsibilities of the Department of Parks and Recreation (DPR).
